Tim Hern John Graziano David Wolf Stephanie Carson
John took a break from his art studies
in the early 1980s to finally get serious
about something he had wanted to do
for a long time- learn to play the bass
guitar and join a band. John did get
serious and before long had been
playing as part of a trio that performed
original music. It was with this group
John honed his singing and playing
skills and penned some of his first
tunes. John has played in many musical
combos in New Jersey and discovered
that his passion for classic 1960s music
was quickly becoming the "oldies of
choice" among the many followers of
his Northern -based band, "Carnaby
Street", which originally focused on the
60's British Invasion. The band then
branched out to include many of the
American hits and the one-hit-wonders
of this prolific era. John's group went
on to share the stage with Gary
Puckett, The Grass Roots, 1910
Fruitgum Company, The Ripchords, and
other 60s-era luminaries. John recently
relocated to Florida and has met a fine
group of musicians that make up the
current line-up of 60`s Groove.
Stephanie has been singing and playing
piano for as long as she can remember.
Her first band experience was emulating
the Beatles in an all-girl air-guitar band
as the Beatlettes : - ) But performing
and music was IT! She majored in voice
performance at Lebanon Valley College
near Hershey, PA and while there got in
two bands “The Grease Band” – 50’s
and 60’s and ‘Incorporated’ – 60’s and
70’s. After graduating she had the
opportunity to go on the road - first in
‘Straight Talk’ and then “Atlantic City
Express” where they toured the east
coast performing in clubs and casinos.
Later the opportunity to do corporate
entertaining presented itself and she
and her husband joined “The Fall Guys
and a Gal” which performed from
Bermuda to Alaska. With many
corporate dates in Florida that is where
they finally built a home. They opened
for such acts as The Smothers Brothers,
Jim Stafford, Chubby Checker, Juice
Newton, Marie Osmond, Gary Puckett,
Brenda Lee and more. Stef found she
had a passion for 60’s music wanted to
sing more of that genre and joined 60’s
Groove and is having a blast!
Stephanie is currently Director of Music
at Northwood Presbyterian Church in
Clearwater and has 2 grown children..
Guitar, Vocals, Harmonica
When the Beatles 1st appeared on the
Ed Sullivan Show, it was all over for Tim
and his brother, Dennis. They started
their first band, The Jest Abowts (You
had to have a cool spelling back then.)
who appeared on Zacherly’s Disc-O-Teen
and almost got a recording contract.
Tim was the lead singer. From there he
moved to bass, then drums. Finally
moving to guitar, Tim found his main
instrument. He played in several bands
along the Jersey Shore, including The
Other Syde (Yes, another cool spelling..)
Vocal Point, Time Bandits and Fair
Share, to name a few. He moved to
Florida in '94 and would never live
anywhere else! His original music has
been featured in several commercials as
well as FitTV’s All Star Workouts, Dr Oz
and the Oprah Winfrey show. He is
married to a groovy chick, Jane (you
may have seen her dancing around
during our gigs),who brings home way
too many stray dogs. Tim uses Line 6,
Schecter, Agile and Epiphone guitars,
Line 6 effects & amp modelers, Tech 21
amplifiers and Roland synthesizers.
(Just in case someone wants to offer
him an endorsement deal....)
David Wolf is a Florida native who
started playing on the teen dance
circuit in 1964.In the early 70's, David
played in college rock bands and also
won the drummer's chair for the FSU
and FAU stage jazz big bands. Over the
years he has played in theatre and
orchestra pits, jazz trios, and even
country bar house bands. But as a
veteran of the British Invasion, his
heart has always been in the music of
the 60's. David says, "The 60's beat is
primal and irresistible and you just have
to dance when you hear it".
